Thorben Westerhuys is an architect and urban planner by education from ETH Zurich. By profession he specializes in spatial data analyses, data architecture and web applications. He gained his initial experience as an urban designer of Hosoya Schaefer Architects on projects across Switzerland and Germany. He developed a PoC for assessing space and growth with big data as part of the SmartUse project for the association Metropolitan Konferenz Zurich. Based on the project, cividi has been established, where Thorben as the company’s CTO develops the web-based map publishing platform dfour and provides data-driven analyses and consulting services for municipalities, cantons and urban planners.
